How the real value is calculated in the Venezuelan market
It's simple: your car is worth what identical cars are selling for in Venezuela. That's how Conduce Real Price (Precio Real Conduce) works, explained without the jargon:
- Find the comparables. Take every car of the same model listed on Conduce (same model, same family). Leave out what doesn't apply: rentals, auctions and drafts.
- Adjust for year. A newer car is worth more. If a comparable is from a different year, its price is adjusted up or down to bring it "in line" with your car's year (cars depreciate over time).
- Adjust for mileage. At the same year, more kilometers means less value. Each comparable is corrected for how many kilometers it has above or below yours.
- Take the median, not the average. With all those prices already adjusted, it takes the middle value. It uses the median on purpose: that way one car with a crazy price tag doesn't skew the result.
- It gives you a verdict. It compares your car's price against that median and tells you if it's a deal, a fair price or overpriced, with a reference range above and below.

Why the listed price isn't the real value
